Organic Wise Organic Matcha Green Tea Powder

This is a 4 OZ bag of organic matcha. I have tried many different matcha tea. The label does not indicate cooking or ceremonial matcha but from the color, smell and taste I feel confident enough to say that it is a ceremonial grade tea. Cooking grade matcha usually have a yellowish or light brown hue.

Organic wise matcha:

- Color is bright green
- scent is fresh and green
- smooth and fine powder
- taste is slightly bitter and leaves a sweet aftertaste.

This matcha comes from Japan and which is the origin that I prefer. Powder is very fine and smooth. To make a nice foamy matcha I would need to whisk for about 3-5 minutes. In the video I whisk it in a haste just to show you how it is done. You will need a chasen to smooth out the clumps.
The taste of course is ceremonial and for this price it is a very good deal in my opinion.

Legend Organic Premium Organic Matcha Green Tea Powder

I have tried many different brands of matcha and legend organic is definitely one of the best I’ve tried.

First of all not all ceremonial grade matcha are created equal. Matcha from Japan seem to have the best quality and taste.  Of course legend organic happens to get their matcha from Japan.

The color is bright green. Smell is fresh and strong. Taste is smooth and very slightly bitter from the powder form.

There are several grades of ceremonial matcha and this info seem to be alien to most people. 

Most people would know the two basic grades which are cooking and ceremonial grade. However there are imperial, emerald, gold and etc. Some are labeled as premium.

It’s actually difficult to differentiate the grades because of slight variations.

I’d say that legend organic is better if not equal to Midori spring’s gold class. I actually would prefer legend organic over Midori spring gold class because it tastes better and is stronger. Not stringy at all.

Consistency is smooth and taste great when mix it in my own drink.

This is a can of Emerald grade ceremonial matcha. I would consider it very decent for a ceremonial grade because it smells fresh and the powder is bright green. Although it’s not a deep vivid green color.

The powder is fine and smooth. I did use a sifter to smooth out the clumps.

 A quick hand and a chasen! Whisk whisk whisk. Up and down and repeat

And Walah! Very nice foam on the top and ready for drinking.

The taste is decent not strong but mild.

This is a large bag 4 Oz of organic cooking grade matcha from Kiss Me Organics.

First of all I was running out of ceremonial grade matcha and I am FRICKING happy that I got to review this. And yes I did receive a discount for the matcha to test and review. All of my feedback and review are 100% honest and my own.

This organic matcha is a product of Japan and it smells absolutely amazing. Compare to the organic matcha that was product of China you can easily distinguish  the difference between them. The organic matcha from Japan smells like REAL fresh and good quality matcha. From this experience I will never buy matcha that are from China EVEN if they are organics. Compare to cooking grade matcha from China I'd say this matcha would be a ceremonial grade. LOL.

There is a notice on the back that it is best to consume the whole bag within 2 months upon opening. I might just squeeze it to 3 months because I will use this for drinking mainly since it tastes almost as good as ceremonial grade. Of course it is not ceremonial grade because you can tell by the color and smell. The color is still very green but with a slight touch of yellow. The smell is extremely green and fresh like real green tea. It took me into my imagination of nature

Anyways let’s get to the good part shall we. I put about a teaspoon of the matcha into a small bowl. I smooth out some of the clumps with the spoon. Slowly pour the hot water and mix until the matcha dissolves. As you can see in the last picture I added some milk to the matcha. The texture is very smooth and creamy. The taste is exceptional! I can still taste the matcha and it is very fresh.

I have a BBQ party coming up and I can’t wait to share this with everyone! I will serve it as tea, latte and sprinkle on ice cream. Don't be shy to explore different recipes with this matcha!

Just arrived in mail today and I was surprise at how small it was but no doubt it is the best tasting green tea matcha I've ever had.

I was careful with lifting the seal so that the powder doesn’t jump out on me. There was a poof of mystery that came out like steam and the scent was very mild and nice. Although there are some clumps but I've got no problem with that. Since I don't have the bamboo stuff I just put a teaspoon of the powder in my cup then add the boiling water. Then I started to mix it like crazy o.o

The clumps were kind of annoying since I don't have a whisk but mixing the powder like crazy for two minutes the color was in the water, bubbles were on top and ready for drinking. I took a little sip just to get an idea how it taste like. It does taste very green but it's different from green tea leaves that I drink. I never had green tea powder so I can't really compare it to anything except the leaves. The powder is not bitter at all like the leaves so I would prefer that. Not exactly sweet either but just green. I drank it all in a range of 10 minutes because I keep trying to come up with some words to describe it but I couldn't. I like this tea and  will slowly enjoy it in peace n_n
